HEARTGARD® Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel)
HEARTGARD Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) is the #1 choice of veterinarians for heartworm disease prevention!1
HEARTGARD Plus is highly effective in preventing heartworm disease. Heartworm disease is a serious threat to the health of your dog. To protect your dog from heartworm disease give HEARTGARD (ivermectin) once-a-month year-round or as directed by your veterinarian. HEARTGARD Plus also provides treatment and control of 2 roundworms and 3 hookworms in a Real-Beef Chewable that dogs love.2
HEARTGARD Plus has a wide margin of safety for all sizes and breeds of dogs. It is approved for use in puppies as young as 6 weeks, small dogs regardless of weight, pregnant or breeding bitches, stud dogs, and Collies.
HEARTGARD Plus is available for three weight ranges; 0–25lbs, 26–50lbs, and 51–100lbs. For dogs over 100 lbs, use the appropriate combination of these chewables (e.g. for a 145 lb dog, give one (1) chewable from the 26–50 lb package and one (1) chewable from the 51–100 lb package). HEARTGARD Plus is available in 6-dose dispensing packs or our more convenient 12-dose dispensing pack. The 12-dose packaging provides the convenience of having a full year's supply of HEARTGARD Plus on hand.
Dogs 6-months of age and older should be tested for, and be negative for heartworm disease, prior to starting a preventative program. Dogs should be retested 6 months later and then annually.
